jhalyn Hi there! My name is Jhalyn. My friends usually call me Jha. I finished my course at Pangasinan State University with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in English. I have been teaching Korean students since 2011. My dream before was to become a call center agent but it had change by the time I graduated. My hobby of watching Korean dramas leads to this kind of profession; I’ve been a fan of K-pop since I was in high school. The first Korean drama that I got hooked most is “FULL HOUSE”. My favorite actress is Suzy Bae and my favorite actor is Lee Seung Gi. I love to learn Korean Language. I watch a lot of videos concerning on how to speak Korean. I try to imitate the way they speak. I can speak some simple Korean expressions. Because of my Korean students, I learned a lot of things about Korea. My understanding toward Korean culture has deepened. I want to visit Korea someday and see the beautiful places that my students described to me. I am jolly, positive, patient and cheerful. Teaching English to foreign students is also a part of my journey of becoming less shy. Seeing my students that improve make me feel very happy and I find it very rewarding. I have an experience in teaching primary students, middle school students, high school students, university students and even professionals who have different English levels. I also taught in an academy wherein I can have a class with my student personally. I always try to make my class lively and teach as easy way as possible in order for them to catch things clearly without getting bored and stressed in learning the language. June Hello, I am Teacher June! I have always gained interest in teaching specifically the English language since I was a kid. I used to playfully teach my two younger brothers when we were still young – I would be their teacher/tutor while them being my students. This passion went on growing up as I decided to apply as an Online English Tutor for Japanese students as my first job experience. Teaching for a few years allowed me to hone my skills even more; my love for speaking and even writing in English was undeniable as I went back to writing fun, creative articles – a hobby I also take pride in. Through teaching others, I also gain lessons in return. It teaches me the art of being patient and how to handle every student fairly. It also teaches me how to be kinder and friendlier through our conversation lessons which also gives me the opportunity to share a piece of my interesting life to my students. Karen Hi there! This is teacher Karen. I am a graduate of Education course, Secondary Education to be specific major in Science. But don’t worry because here in Philippines we use English Language as a medium of instruction. I was once a classroom teacher and had taught different subjects. I became a Values, History, English and Science teacher of different grade levels. Teaching in a classroom environment is so stressful that’s why I quit and ended up teaching in a one-on-one typed. My experience in one on one teaching helped me introduced to different cultures of other people also, it developed my interpersonal skills. I am a licensed teacher for I passed LET (Licensure Examination for Teachers). My hobbies are reading books, listening to songs and playing 6-string guitar. I read both fiction and non fiction books. For fiction books, I read different genres but thrilling books is what I like the most. Examples of these are Dan Brown’s books such as ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ’The Lost Symbol’, ’Digital Fortress’ etc. For the non fiction books I like Science and History books. For the songs, I like acoustic more than anything because I like the sound of guitar that is also the reason why I got into playing a guitar. Lastly, I am a kind of person who is very much interested in a lot of things, I like to try things I haven’t tried yet because I want to discover myself more. Because I believe that all things can be learned we just have to go out of our box and face our fear. Actually I can’t write all the things about me, just ask me and I’ll tell you. Kaye Hello there! My name is Kaye. I have been teaching English online since 2011, and it has been fun ever since. I finished college in Manila with a degree in Mass Communication. I have also worked in call centers for American, British, and Australian telephone companies, which helped me a lot in honing my skills in English. I was a radio DJ playing Filipinos' favorite songs from dusk until dawn. I also host events during my free time. I love music, animals, movies, and food. Reading is my favorite way to relax as well as spending time with my family and friends on weekends. Working in the ESL industry is the longest part of my career and the most rewarding. Not only was I allowed to teach all levels of students from Koreans to Taiwanese to Japanese nationals, but also to share what I know best to them, which is my love for the English language. Adjusting to the needs of each student that I encounter comes naturally to me, and I always make it a point that my students learn while having fun! It is the best way for them to improve and embrace English learning. Also, I have always believed in the saying: "Progress, not perfection." Kimber Hi! I’m Kimber, I’m a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. I studied Aviation Electronics Technology, which gave me the skills to work with aircraft systems and ensure their safety. Ever since I was young, English has been my favorite subject. I’ve always loved reading books and watching movies, which helped me improve my language skills and creativity. I've been teaching English to foreign learners since 2021, working with students of all ages—from kids and middle schoolers to university students and professionals!
