One of my worst memories is when my parents forced me to eat food I hated.

It was 은행 (ginkgo nuts), which have an extremely awful smell.

I didn’t want to eat them, so I lied and said, “I already ate them.”

However, my father hates lies, and he was really angry that day. = got 

Actually, my father usually doesn’t get angry, so it was a shocking day for me. = shocking 

Since that day, I still hate 은행.
