For now, I would like to describe the way how people celebrate weddings in my country. We usually celebrate the wedding of a new couple through two steps.

The first celebrating is happening = celebration happens before the wedding. A = The groom and the bride tend to invite their friends to
dinner to nofity them a = about the wedding date and place. During the dinner, they used to = (would) discuss about what they want to get as a wedding present. The second celebrating = celebration is during the wedding. The guests participate in the wedding events, take some photos together, and then have a meal in the wedding place. After coming back from honey moon, the couple used to = (would)  send a = some simple presents to some of the best friends.
