When Korea was in uncivilized and primitive society, there were some regulations about gender roles. Those were a kind of doctrine of Confucianism. It was severely strict.

The rulers should establish the public order = orders/in order and keep the formation of the state at that time. They needed to oblige their people to keep a = the family because the population was the most important thing in developing the nation in primitive ages.
In addition mostly men is = are more powerful than women. And women is = are more affective than men. Therefore women was easier = it is easier for women to do a household matters = household matters than men.
In my opinion, a family affairs = affair is as much important = is important as much as outside labor which men usually do because happiness and heath in family should be regarded as the most valuable things in our life.
There is no concern of the ages and times.

The youngmen of today are apt to pursue only their own freedom. I agree with that = that liberty is the most priceless in the human society. Furthermore everybody should have their own discretion but must have a prudence =? to pursue their license and self indulgence. We must not make others be inconvenient in order to keep public order. It is the difference between individualism and egoism.
