I will talk about a Pungmul Festival as a representative event that it is annually held near Bupyeong Subway Station around Octorber during 3 days. The Pungmul is Korean's trational culture that famers = farmers play with most percussions such a ggwaeggwari alike = as ggwaeggwari, it is like a small gong, a jing alike = jing, like a large gong, janggus of = , an hourglass shaped drum, buks alike = , same as a drum, sogos alike = is like a small hand drum. The leader's instrument is a ggwaeggwari. I took part in the event 5 years ago and its admission was free. Everyone can enjoy it. I saw Pungmul bands enthusiastially were = enthusiastically playing their music. Because they made charming sounds, I became to be excited and my shoulder danced up and down. I saw various
small event and many food booths. I saw that children with their family made a cake, people enjoyed magic show and young people who are not familiar to traditional instrument played them. The festival made to remind our tradition and custom. I recommend it to my friends to see it togehter with their families. The event can help children, who are unfamiliar of our tradition, to understand it. |
