Korean culture is based on confucianism.
In Korean language, there is a special way to say something to older people.
We use some kind of different words to express our respecting=respect for the older people.
For example, the word 'Birthday' can be translated into two Korean words.
'Saeng-Il' is for people who are about my age or younger people, and 'Saeng-Sin' is for older people.
