Yesterday, Japan government and South Korean one declared that two parts reached an agreement about so called “Comfort Women Issue” Before and during World War 2, Japanese government forced some women from abroad, including Korea, China and other eastern Asian countries, to sell their sex to Japanese soldiers regardless of their wills, like sex slavery.= Some women from Asian countries were forced to serve for the Japanese troops as a sexual slave during World War II, Korea and Japan have a lot of problem about whether these issues were solved already or not. Because when the two parts made an agreement for restarting relationship after World War 2, Korean dictatorship government got some money from Japan government secretly, maybe instead of official, legal compensation. Unlike Germany’s frank, public and really regrettable apology to the public, including all victims of Nazi’s government during World War 2, followed by a tremendous compensation for the victims and all of method to remind of their wrongdoing, Japan hasn’t still admit any legal responsibilities and apologies. But yesterday’s agreement was disappointing many Koreans. Because it was not sure who is legally responsible for, and it seemed Korean government conceded not to handle these issues internationally. It seemed what Japanese government argued before. What we have wanted is to make sure Japan government’s legal responsibilities for these issues and real apologies for the victim. I think the agreement was apparently Japan government’s compromise victory.
