Some people believe that it can be helpful to give children help when they are doing their homework. However, I do not agree with the idea for following two reasons.
To begin with, children can learn more from doing alone. When they try to have things done on their own, children think of the material more and deeply. There is a study which was conducted at the University of Hankook. It was performed with primary school students who were in the same class. The teacher gave them a homework assignment, and then half of the students did the homework with their mother's help while the other half did it on their own. When the participants took a test after the homework, scores of the students who did their assignment alone is much higher. It means that they could learn more in the process in which they tried something.
Moreover, finishing a task alone can develop a sense of independence. In my case, I had done my assignment alone from an early age. Although I felt difficult and request some help continually, my parents always waited for me to finish my homework for myself before they gave some help. When I attend a high school, I become an independent student for my age. If my parents taught me what I did not know then, I might be dependent on teachers or parents like other friends in my age. |

Hi Daisy!
It seemed like your writing is great! The next thing you have to practice is speaking. :) |
