the whole, is this time well-spent?

I think it's not well-spent. Korean education policy is focused for students to get higer score and to go to university. So, almost students are pushed to study hard and put away the matter associated with their own personality. The same is true of the teachers. Whether a teacher thinks getting higher scores is the most important or making a good personality and socializing their students well is the most important, they are in stuation pushing them to have their students going to a perstigious university. = Wheather a teacher thinks that getting high scores is the most important, there are several factors that push students to go to a prestigious university. Sometimes, because of lack of communication between student and teacher, serious problem happen in school such as violence by either teacher or student.

Aim for coherence and preciseness. 

Avoid flowery words coz it loses the clarity of the main idea.
